Spades is a trick-taking game that is related to Hearts, but is more closely associated with Bridge. Spades was invented in the United States in the 1930’s. While Spades became quite popular in the United States, its popularity did not grow beyond our borders. The advent of the Internet in the 1990’s has made Spades much more accessible to people around the world and the game’s popularity has grown accordingly.
